Who We Are
25 Years of Serving Christ Through Serving Others
Servants is a faith-driven organization dedicated to serving Christ by serving others. For over 25 years, we have been building meaningful relationships, transforming lives, and providing hope through compassionate action. Our mission is rooted in meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in crisis, with a particular focus on ensuring safe and affordable housing for vulnerable populations.

We provide critical home repair and maintenance services for low-income families, older adults, single parents, veterans, and disabled homeowners in York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties. By addressing essential needs such as accessibility, safety, and comfort, we help individuals and families remain in their homes with dignity and security.

Our work goes beyond construction; it’s about restoring hope and building stronger communities. Through partnerships with churches, local organizations, and volunteers, Servants creates opportunities for people to experience Christ’s love in action. Whether replacing a floor, installing a wheelchair ramp, or fixing a faucet, every project is an act of compassion and a step toward transforming lives.

At Servants, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. Together, we’re making that vision a reality, one home and one heart at a time.
The SERVANTS Story
Servants began with a simple yet profound mission: to serve Christ by serving others. From the very beginning, this guiding principle shaped every aspect of the organization. The founder was deeply inspired by Christ’s example of a servant attitude, as seen throughout His ministry. He wanted Servants to embody those same values of building relationships, transforming lives, and providing hope. Serving Christ was always at the heart of the vision, but the founder understood that service is most meaningful when grounded in relationships. From the start, he believed that truly serving others meant taking the time to learn about people’s lives—their challenges, their histories, and their hopes. These genuine, meaningful connections became the foundation of the organization’s work. Building relationships with God, the families served, and the volunteers serving alongside each other was, and still is, critical to everything Servants does. The emphasis on relationships shapes every project and interaction. Volunteers are encouraged to prioritize connecting with the families they serve over simply completing tasks. It’s through these deeper connections that doors open to share Christ’s love and create lasting transformation. True change doesn’t happen in a brief or shallow encounter; it grows from trust, understanding, and faith. This belief in transforming lives recognizes that the real power to change comes from God. Servants sees its role as a facilitator—building connections and addressing essential needs so that transformation can take root. Whether it’s a critical home repair or an act of kindness, every service opportunity is part of a larger mission to bring healing and restoration. Many of the families served by Servants come to the organization burdened by hopelessness. They face challenges like generational poverty, isolation, and overwhelming life circumstances. Often, they feel forgotten—by society, the church, and sometimes even by God. Servants aims to restore hope with dignity, ensuring every family feels respected and included in the process. Each act of service is a testament to God’s love, pointing to Him as the ultimate source of hope and renewal. From the outset, the founder believed in the essential role of the local church in this mission. Engaging the church community not only multiplies the impact of their work but also creates opportunities for congregations to live out their faith in action. At the same time, Servants is committed to serving responsibly—ensuring that their efforts uplift families and communities without causing unintended harm. Today, Servants continues to live out these values through its home repair and maintenance services for low-income families, older adults, single parents, veterans, and disabled homeowners in York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties. Every repair, every conversation, and every prayer is rooted in the mission to serve Christ through serving others. What started as a simple vision has grown into a movement of hope and transformation, touching countless lives and demonstrating the power of Christ’s love in action.
