Sharon took her first mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2012. She returned home from her trip forever broken and deeply burdened by what God showed her. With her heart torn, Sharon now leads several mission trips per year, works to get each child in the villages she sees educated, trains the women of the villages to sew and raise goats to sell, and teaches families to become self sufficient in providing for their family and village. As of 2017, there are 272 children attending school versus the 9 children attending when she started just 5 years ago.
God took hold of our hearts during our first missions trip to Guatemala in 2011. We returned to the U.S. and all of our hopes, dreams, and desires were radically changed to want to serve God’s people in Guatemala. He used our skills, desires, and experience to guide us to His true calling upon our lives. You can read more about this story and the ministry He has called to by checking out our ministry page at Uniting 2 Serve.
We’d like to invite you to partner with us through prayer as we continue to share our experiences and bridge the gap between Guatemala and our home country. To learn more about those ministries and stay updated on how Jesus is allowing us to further His Kingdom in Guatemala please subscribe to our newsletter. God’s presence in Guatemala and His plan for the Guatemalan people is a miracle that all should witness.
Keith began working at Servants in September of 2017. He had been working as a full-time youth pastor in the York area for over 10 years and felt God calling him in a new direction. He has volunteered with Servants in the past, and when he saw the opportunity to serve full-time God said “Go.”
Keith has been married to Emily for 11 years. They have three sons: Benjamin (9), Joshua (7), and Noah (4).
There is a saying that “God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called.” Keith definitely feels called to this work, but it is wholly the work of the Holy Spirit that has qualified him. Keith loves to see others experience moments where God equips them to do work that would not be possible without Him.
In October 2014, God called a Kentucky girl and her Tennessee fiance to serve in ministry in Red Lion, PA. Alisha previously worked with nonprofits and vulnerable populations with the help of her social work degree. She uses those experiences to show love and compassion to those in our community with her position at Servants.
Alisha has been married to her husband Nolan since 2015. She and Nolan, Youth Director, lovingly claim to have 30 kids who are in their youth group at church. They also have Barry, a sweet cat they rescued.
Alisha loves to be a listening ear and encouraging voice to those who are struggling and has no one else to talk with. Jesus loves and cares about each of us so passionately. Every day is an opportunity to be an extension of His love.
Trent Davis founded Servants in May of 2000. Trent had been working as a CPA in Baltimore, MD when he heard God's call to start an organization that would help connect people in need with people that want to serve.
Trent has been married to his wife Susan for 25 years. They have a 21-year old daughter Aubree, a 19-year old son Levi, and a 16-year old son Micah.
Trent has led over 40 mission trips to Guatemala as well as teams to India, Haiti and in the Gulf Coast of the USA. Trent is passionate about seeing others serve and especially enjoys seeing people fall in love with missions for the first time.
In April of 2014 Steve had the opportunity to go on his first Disaster Recovery Mission Trip with Servant. With over 20 years’ experience in residential construction, he jumped at the chance! After returning from the trip, Steve felt God calling him to get more involved with the Home Helps Ministry. He continued to serve locally any time he had a chance and in January 2015 started full time as Home Helps Project Manager.
Steve has been married to his wife Alicia since 2011 and has 4 beautiful kids Morgan, Madison, Mason, Maybreigh and a 1-year old grandson Drake.
Steve is currently serving as Director of our Home Helps Ministry and is looking forward to seeing where God will lead us in the years to come.
In September 2010, along with his wife Chris, Bobby heard God calling to go on a transformation trip to Guatemala after attending a Servants presentation. The transformation trip in January 2011 to Guatemala brought Bobby and Chris closer to God and a renewed desire to serve God more directly.
Bobby has been married to Chris Gohn for 20 years. They have an 18-year old son, Benjamin, and a 15-year old daughter, Laura.
God has blessed Bobby with over twenty years of technical and operational experience that he puts to use as he serves. Bobby enjoys watching the spark that only God can provide when both the person being served and the person serving experience God's love and peace together.
In 2011, Chris took her first mission. God broke her heart for the families in Guatemala and families in her own community. After volunteering for several years, Chris finally left the corporate world to follow God's calling to Servants.
Chris has been married to Bobby Gohn since 1997 and they have a son attending Penn State University and a daughter in High School, who is thriving in the arts and who makes an awesome pumpkin pie. Both kids are very active in their youth group, their community, and with helping others.
Chris loves seeing our volunteers interact with our homeowners, our families, and our staff. What a blessing to see someone's heart melt when they see first-hand whose life they changed.
