Answering God's Call

In 1999, Trent Davis went on his first mission trip. In 2000, Trent answered Christ's call to servant ministry and he established Servants, Inc. Based on his mission experience, Trent came to the following conclusions:

  • There is a desperate need for Christ in our communities, our country and around the world;
  • People around the world are dying every day from a lack of basic necessities; and
  • Most people, given the opportunity, are will to serve.

We at Servants believe Christ uniquely calls each person into service. We know people want to serve, but may have difficulty in getting started. Servants was created to serve others and enable others to serve.

Put Love Your Neighbor Into Action!

Luke 10:25-37

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself'." “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

What Does 100% Pass Through Mean to You?

What does 100% Pass Through mean? It is one of the factors that makes us unique in the mission field and in the nonprofit world. We have always felt that God called us to serve others and help others serve by being good stewards and keeping costs low. That allows us to pass through 100% of the funds designated to our ministry areas!

This means if you give $100 to a missionary, that missionary receives $100 of support! If you give $100 of support to Home Helps, $100 goes to the Home Helps Ministry. If you sponsor a family for $35 a month, guess what? $35 goes to support that family!  100% pass through is rarely used. This promise we make defines our organization and mission. We are here to serve others! We are grateful for your generosity and compassion in serving other through your donation. Servants covers all credit cards fees and wire transfers to ensure each ministry receives every penny.

This model is completely dependent on our donors and supporters who help us cover all our operating expenses through Core Mission Support. Servants' Core Mission is the engine that drives each ministry; ensures there is a talented, dedicated staff who empowers our 600+ volunteers; prepares for a strong future through strategic finance and accounting; and ensures transparency through the Board of Directors who governs us. We believe our work in York and Lancaster Counties, across the USA and around the world is vital to serving families at-risk. We ask our donors to prayerfully consider supporting our Core Ministry needs. When you give to our Core Ministry Support fund, you help us continue the 100% pass through for all designated gifts to our ministries, missionaries and the people we serve. Because of your added generosity, we are able to pay everything from salaries, to office rent, to utilities without taking a percentage of your designated gift.

Because of you, Servants can continue Serving Christ, Building Relationships, Transforming Lives and Providing Hope.  Thank you!
