Servants
Where is God when disaster strikes? He is in the recovery!
Hurricane Sandy devastated the east coast of the United States. We realize that the physical need in the affected communities is overwhelming. We also understand that there is just as much need for people to experience the love and hope of Jesus Christ! We feel that God calls us to respond in such a way the we can be examples of God's love and grace to the families in need.
Servants has been in contact with several organizations and individuals in the area to assess the need. We have also been in prayer to see how God would call us to serve those impacted by the storm. Most of the feedback we are getting at this time is that communities still need a couple weeks to assess and organize before they can turn power back on and start receiving teams. We are planning to start sending teams of volunteers at that time. If you would like to volunteer to be a part of one of those teams, please send me an email at trent@servants.org and let me know you are available.
In the mean time, we need your prayers and support. Please pray with me for those impacted by the storm. There is still much confusion, worry, and frustration in the communities damaged by the storm. Please pray for God's peace for those families and wisdom for the volunteers and government officials doing their best to respond. It is no easy or fast task! We also need your financial support to help us send teams of volunteers to the affected areas to be the hands and feet of Christ! We will need funds for materials, supplies and transportation. With all of the disasters that have struck the United States in the past several years, less and less funds are available from other sources to help with the rebuilding. We will need your help to respond to this disaster! All donations will go 100% to the rebuilding of homes and lives in the disaster area. Servants does not hold back any administrative fees from donations. You can give now by clicking on the button below or by sending a check to Servants, 268 W. Beaver St., Suite 103, Hellam, PA 17406.
Prayerfully consider how you can help us respond to Sandy, with your time as a volunteer, with your prayers, or financially by making a donation.
Thank you for your prayers, your support, and you service!
